From Never Again

Welcome
Never Again International is a network of mainly young people based all around the world, with our roots in Rwanda and the vow of 'Never Again' made after the Holocaust. Our core aim is to provoke ideas and actions for a peaceful world in which genocide has no place except in memory.
Never Again is a decentralised, location based network of individuals working together, thematically, around the world. Never Again is also a community, a process and a dynamic, experimental method of international conflict prevention
This wiki site is the central hub of the Never Again network, both a source of information and a way of working together.
Anyone can edit a wiki. That's right, you can go around and contribute to pretty much anything you'd like with a click of the edit button at the tops of pages.
We are developing policies for editing, so see here for more information.
Here are a few places you might like to explore first of all:
- The Community Portal is the central noticeboard for members and a place to see what we're doing and get involved
- In Current events you can read about what Never Again members have been doing and add your own news
- The Recent Changes list will tell you what's been going on in the wiki since your last visit.
- And if you're at all stuck with anything to do with editing, you can always refer to the Help pages
So, when you've settled in, here are a few things we'd like you to do!
- Please provide your email on your user page.
- Check out the Organization and Membership page and add your name to the membership list.
- Tell everyone who you are by editing your user page - this is really important as we need to know who is doing what and where they are. Also, it's a good way to see how easy it is to contribute to the wiki.
- Help build our library!
Some tips:
- Leave messages for other users anytime by clicking on a user off this list - new users are added to this when they been contributing for a while. Nearly all pages have a discussion page too, so if you want to ask questions that don't fit on the page itself, feel free to use discussion pages.
- The easiest way to sign your name anywhere is by using four tildes like this: ~~~~
Again, welcome, and if you have any questions at all, feel free to ask me! ClareWhite 21:55, 28 April 2006 (CEST)
Internship
Hi Melanie Hopefully you've seen the email I've sent to Joseph Quesnel on this, unless you don't know each other at all, which would be a remarkable coincidence :) ClareWhite 12:03, 14 June 2006 (CEST)
Welcome
Hey Melanie - Welcome to the wiki! We are very excited at the possibility of you working as an intern for NA. It will make a big difference to us as an organisation if it all works out. Marian (NAI, based in NYC)
Hello to you back!
Hey there Melanie!! Thanks for the message you sent! I always wanted to go to Canada to see whats it like I heard it's beautiful. Which province are you from? Have you read Shake Hands with the Devil? It took me almost three weeks to finish and I couldn't stop crying for the hell Mr. Dallaire had to go through and for the Rwandans that were murdered in cold blood. I've read the book seven times already because it's such a good book and I consider it my favorite of all time (that's saying alot since I am a bookworm) so far I'm reseaching the Rwandan genocide by reading more books, web surfing and watch documentaries to better understand this in my mind and my heart. Maybe I'll even write a book about it when the times comes or go to Rwanda someday. I bid you Au Revior! w/b

Poems for Dallaire
Hey Melanie - Ruth aka Bookworm has writen a brilliant poem inspired by Shake Hands with the Devil and there is a poem by one of our Rwandan members here Maybe we could present Dallaire with a copy of both and a letter from NAI when you meet him later this month. If you feel comfortable with this, I can suggest it to the IC...
Presentation of Gifts
I think it is a brilliant idea Marian and I will, with Ruth's permission, do up the poem nicely to present to Senator Dallaire.
If there was a particular sentiment that people would like to share with him at this time, I can add that to a card. Let me know, and I'll get creative!
Permission granted!
Melanie, it would mean the world to me if Senator Dallaire could read my poem!! You could edit it if you wish. Just let me know if you need any clarification! Thanks, Mel! Ruth
Lovely poem!
The child soldier poem by Lucy was so haunting and quite lovely. Now that's a poet in the making!! Wonderful poem! Ruth
A friend
Melanie, thanks so much for chatting with me on Skype the other night! It meant so much to me that someone likes me for who I am, and that means so much to me!! Hope your trip to Rwanda is a safe and happy one! Ruth
Ruth, you are an absolute sweetheart. Soon we will be going to Rwanda together and we will both be blessed. When we have a concert next year for Never Again in Canada, you will have to come down and be my guest! Melanie
