Never Again talk:Constitution

From Never Again

Trustees

Does Never Again want to do something like a Board of Trustees? Or are all important decisions made by a vote of all members? -- Nick 06:43, 28 Oct 2005 (BST)

This is the main point to resolve. I think that there should be a board of financially responsible trustees (of the international Network only), while the day to day running should be a volunteer International Committee who report to the board of trustees. ClareWhite 10:06, 28 Oct 2005 (BST)

Individual chapters

My feeling has always been that it is impossible to have the Network run the affairs of every nation and I think this was pretty much agreed by others in the summer? Therefore I'm adding Chapter Constitutions for the UK (if the UK members are agreed) and the Rwandan constitution that I believe they have been running with for a long time. This Constitution here would therefore be the governing document for the international Network and while it would be expected that nothing National Chapters (and Clubs) do would be in conflict with it, they would be run their own procedures. Hierarchy

Another idea I see has been adopted is the U.S. invention of Federalism, where the central Network has supremacy over the Chapters, while the Chapters maintain individual powers. Sweet! -- Nick 17:04, 28 Oct 2005 (BST)

exactly: poppy's phrase was The Global Federation of Never Again :) its a phrase that anti-europeans use with derision without noticing that it has been used with some success in america... --ClareWhite
